Your school will provide at least two days’ notice before Picture Day.
An information flyer is typically sent home with your child 1–3 weeks in advance. This flyer includes:

  • Package and pricing details
  • An attached order form for easy purchasing

Be sure to check your child’s backpack or school folder so you don’t miss it!

Yes! On Picture Day, teachers and parent volunteers are available to help guide students and make sure they’re picture-ready. They assist with:

  • Escorting students to the photography area
  • Straightening collars, fixing hair, and offering encouragement
  • Helping younger students feel comfortable and confident

Plus, Sunset provides complimentary combs so every child can look their best before stepping in front of the camera.

Absolutely! We welcome parent volunteers on Picture Day.
If you’re interested, please reach out to your school directly to sign up.

As a thank you, we offer a complimentary picture package for your children when you volunteer. It’s our way of showing appreciation for your support!

Our professional photographers are trained to adjust lighting and posing techniques to minimize glare from glasses during your child’s photo session.

Plus, for added peace of mind, every picture package you order includes complimentary glare removal — at no extra cost. We want every student to look their best, glasses and all!

If your child missed Picture Day or you’d like a new photo, they’ll have a second opportunity to be photographed on Retake Day.

Your school will notify students and families with the date and details of Retake Day.

Please note: Retake Day is only available for Fall portraits. There is no Retake Day option for Spring Pictures.

If you miss the payment deadline for Picture Day, don’t worry — you still have options!

You can place your order afterward by choosing one of the following methods:

  • Order Online
  • Order by Phone
  • Mail in Your Order Form

Be sure to include your child’s name, school, and grade to help us match the order correctly.
Late orders may take a little longer to process, but we’ll make sure you receive your pictures!

If the package you received is incorrect — or if you didn’t receive a package at all — we’re happy to assist in correcting your order.

Important: We kindly ask that you review your order promptly. We reserve the right to decline corrections for any orders not reported within 30 days of delivery.

Yes! You can purchase a digital image that includes a copyright release.

This release gives you the legal right to:

  • Print additional copies
  • Share the image digitally
  • Use the photo for personal projects

Important: Without the official copyright-released image, the image cannot be copied, scanned, or reproduced without the company’s express written consent.

Fall Portraits are essential for school use and administrative purposes. These images are used for:

  • School ID cards
  • Yearbooks
  • Administrative records and support materials

Spring Portraits, on the other hand, are a fun and creative opportunity to capture your child in a more relaxed, studio-style setting. These sessions feature:

  • Contemporary backgrounds
  • Modern posing styles
  • A more personalized photo experience

Each season offers something special — whether it’s for official school use or a keepsake for your family.

Your child’s photographs will be delivered to the school approximately two weeks after Picture Day.
Be sure to check with your child’s teacher or school office if you haven’t received them after that time.

We’re truly sorry to hear that you’re not satisfied with your child’s portraits. At Sunset Photography, we are committed to delivering the highest quality images.

If you’d like to have your portraits retaken, please follow these steps carefully:

For Retakes (Fall Only):

  • Return your original portrait package to the photographer on Retake Day.
  • new set of portraits will be issued to you after the retake.

For Refunds (if still unsatisfied after retakes):

  1. Remove the classroom group photo or composite from the picture envelope — these items are non-refundable.
  2. On the picture envelope, clearly write:
    • Your name
    • Address
    • Phone number
    • Name of the school where the pictures were taken
  3. Mail the entire package (postage paid) within 10 days of receiving your portraits to:

  4. Please allow two weeks for your refund to be processed.
